ABOUT PAM GRACI:

Having owned dogs all her life and having always been fascinated with "what made them tick", it is only natural that Pam made the choice to devote her life to dog training.  She has been training dogs for 16 years, with her journey truly beginning 12 years ago, when she discovered the world of positive reinforcement/force free training.  After  years of using  "old school" jerk and pull, punishment type methods that never sat right with her mind or heart, she was delighted to be introduced to the most cutting edge, humane, scientifically proven, type of training available to our four legged companions; positive reinforcement training.

Positive reinforcement training is being used by the top dog trainers of our generation.  Not only is this method used for dogs, but for other mammals as well such as orcas, big cats, etc.  This type of training allows you to communicate clearly and consistently with your dog, encouraging them to problem solve and think out of the box, while forming an incredible close knit bond between you, while you help them understand what you are asking of them and what is expected.  The dogs learn the behaviors quickly and enthusiastically as they are being rewarded for a job well done rather than forced to comply.  Pam insists that training should be fun for both the dog and the owner.  "Train with your brain, not pain.", is a mantra she once heard and has embraced.

Pam is passionate about animal rescue and runs her own rescue dog prison program, A Dog's Tale From Jail at SCI Benner.  She also worked for several years at SCI Smithfield as canine trainer for Canine Partners For Life, a wonderful service dog program. Pam competes successfully with her dogs in many venues and activities, such as agility and rally-0.  She currently shares her life with her shelter dog Jinx, a dynamic little doberman/aussie mix, the last of her pack of four.
